House of the Year awards

The Registered Master Builders House of the Year awards celebrate the very best in residential building. The competition, judged by a team of experts who visit each home at least once, is divided into two parts. The first is at regional level, with more than 350 properties taking part in 2017. They are awarded a range of quality marks and the Regional Supreme Winners (for both new builds and renovations) are announced at local black tie events around the country from early July. All of these houses are featured on this website and in Regional magazines delivered direct to homes throughout the regions.

From those entries, up to 100 properties will reach Gold Reserve status and go through to a second round of judging for the national competition.

In November the National House of the Year Awards take place, and the National Supreme winners and House of the Year is announced. The winning homes are showcased in the National House of the Year magazine that is available from all good magazine retailers in early December.
